DSPTone DiodriveDiodrive isn't designed as a museum-piece recreation. The concept comes from a classic era of guitar effects from light breakup and gritty rhythm tones to compressed, aggressive distortion. The MXR Distortion+ and DOD 250 are important references for this family of diode-clipping circuits. From the open overdrives to dsitortion by all know diode clipping pedals, Diodrive isn't trying to replace them. Its purpose is different. Rather than recreating one specific circuit, DioDrive brings these familiar drive territories into a single flexible plugin, with modern control. Custom drive that can sit naturally in front of an amplifier, tighten a guitar track, add attitude to bass, or become a deliberately aggressive distortion sound in a production. "What if that character had the control and flexibility expected from a modern studio plugin?" That's where Diodrive begins. It takes inspiration from fundamental diode-drive architecture and expands it for modern production and expand scales of use: - a guitarist's drive pedal, - a producer's color box, - an engineer's distortion tool - a sound-designer harmonic processor Diode Overdrive, Reimagined. Flexibility of a plugin designed for the studio. WHY TO TRY? Guitar Amp / Amp Simulation One of the most natural applications. Use Diodrive before an amp to create everything from light amp like breakup to a heavily pushed amplifier sound. Clean Guitar. Excellent for adding harmonic character while retaining the original dynamics and picking response. Bass. Use Mix and Low Cut to add distortion and definition without completely replacing the fundamental bass tone. Fuzz. DioDrive can work before a fuzz to give the fuzz a tighter and more controlled signal, or after a fuzz to reshape its character. Compressor. A compressor before DioDrive can produce a more consistent and sustained distortion response. A compressor after DioDrive can further control the resulting dynamics. Synthesizers. Particularly useful for turning sterile digital or analog synth tones into more harmonically complex sounds. Drum Bus / Parallel Drums. Use a restrained Mix setting for additional grit, attack and density. Mix Bus / Creative Processing. At subtle settings, Diodrive can add harmonic density and attitude without turning the entire mix into an obvious distortion effect. Vocals. Not a conventional vocal distortion, but useful for parallel processing, aggressive sections, doubles and special-effect vocals. Introduction price 30% off. Up to 13 October. Regular price: $29. VST3 / AU / AAX, (MacOS / Windows) 14-days free trial. Online & Offline activation. Read More
