Warner Chappell Celebrates Latin: The Sounds of Nabález and Delfina DibWarner Chappell Celebrates Latin: The Sounds of Nabález and Delfina DibIn honor of Hispanic Heritage month, and to celebrate new innovative sync songwriting projects, Warner Chappell Music (WCM) held a private Latin Showcase at their Los Angeles office. Featuring performances from Latin GRAMMY-nominees producer-songwriter Nabález and singer-songwriter-artist Delfina Dib, the gathering joined artists and industry professionals in highlighting original Latin music for television, film, and media.Columbian songwriter-producer-artist Nabález has credits across multiple genres and languages, including collaborations on “Indeciso” by Reik, J. Balvin, and Lalao Ebratt, and “Salir Con Vida” by Morat and Feid. Nabález has earned 11 overall Latin GRAMMY Award nominations (including Best New Artist and Songwriter of the Year) and is nominated for the 2024 Latin GRAMMY Award for Best Regional Mexican Song for his work on “Canción Para Olvidarte” by Majo Aguilar. Current projects include music with Carín León, Ha*Ash, RBD, Lola Índigo, and Mario Bautista. Signing with WCM towards the end of 2019, Nabález says that he is grateful for the timing of it all and getting to build a team during lockdown to work on a lot of music that otherwise might not have happened. Of WCM Colombia, he says, “I really wanted to work with them. They're everywhere [and] the people are awesome. I didn't even hesitate when they offered to sign with them.” The four years since his signing have included multiple co-writes and more diversity in Nabález’s writing. “You write as a songwriter with a more specific spectrum. You don't write so broadly. You try to write to help the producer [on] a track, record vocals, or whatever [it] requires. The track has to speak for itself in terms of the sound.” Having started as a performer with an album of Mexican music, Nabález has always written for other artists as well. “I see myself as a songwriter who sometimes sings, rather than a singer who sometimes writes music for other people,” he says. With incredibly diverse material, Nabález writes everything from Latin and pop to country, and he loves to combine unexpected sounds to keep things fresh and color outside of the genre lines.Having participated in songwriting camps in Miami, Argentinian-born singer-songwriter-rapper Delfina Dib’s performance was her first in the United States. With an intense raw live performance and fabulous vocal ability, Dib’s passionate energy is palpable—on and off the stage. Following her EPs Lotto (2018) and Mio (2019), 2023’s debut album Directo al Cora saw performances in Mexico and Argentina. In her first year signed to WCM, she has already secured two placements with video game EAFC75. Says Dib, “It’s very cool for me to synchronize songs in my first year. [It is] not always like this, so I’m very blessed.” Singing since the age of two, and writing her first music at age 13, Dib is really enjoying writing for other artists and the fresh perspective and new skills it is helping her build. “It's very nice to be a songwriter because it's another universe,” she says. “You have to do the music that you love. […],” adds Dib. “It’s very magical for me. I respect [and] love the music.” With various performance styles—including Rap/Hip-Hop, R&B/Soul, EDM, Pop, and regional Colombian—Dib has Spotify listeners in Argentina, Mexico, Columbia, Chile, Spain, Uruguay, Peru, Ecuador, Guatemala, as well as the United States.“It’s a fascinating moment to hear Latin genres fusing with hip-hop, country, urban, and pop,” says WCM VP of Sync Latin, Mary Nuñez. “Through sync opportunities, we're able to help listeners discover these new songs through films, TV shows, video games, and sports. This showcase was yet another medium for our partners in the sync and music community here in LA to discover our Colombian talent, and we hope Nabález and Delfina's careers continue to grow from it."The post Warner Chappell Celebrates Latin: The Sounds of Nabález and Delfina Dib first appeared on Music Connection Magazine.
