Song: Nicholas Cangiano - Falling Behind

What's so good?

I think what's special about Nicholas Cangiano's "Falling Behind" is that the percussion stretches out the soundscape, providing the perfect breathing room for the string work. What's more, is that said string work does not sound of this time. There's a funkiness to it that takes the past, and with Cangiano's musical stylings, melts it into the present — it's not past, present, nor future, but something of its own creation. In listening, the audience obtains the rare opportunity to suspend the conventional sense of time. And if that's not a little bit of magic, then I'm not sure what else could be.Since covering "Kicked To The Curb" three years ago, my ears prick up when Nicholas Cangiano's name flashes across the screen. With "Falling Behind," the multi-instrumentalist does not disappoint. This is an artist whose music appears to age like fine wine.
