DROELOE X Banji - Landscape
Sounds like: Just A Gent, San Holo, Vampire Weekend
What's so good?
It's finally happened. Well, at least semi-consciously taken place. And what is it you might ask? It's quite simple really: I'm excited by a song with, wait for it, vocal processing.Yes, I know. I'm a sensitive little lamb if a spot of vocal processing can scare me off. Alas, we can't all be lionesses. Yet, I digress. This group of similarly delicate folk have gotten together and created what I've come to love (and fellow writers of Indie Shuffle have equally enjoyed) as "Landscape." This collective, that is the pairing of DROELOE and Banji, seems like a group of humans who I'd love to sit between and watch as they bring a song to life. Perhaps naively, I envision it to involve some innocent laughter and fun with abandon. In the music video for "Landscape," you get little moments like being able to watch the lead singer lost in a moment before bringing trumpet to lips. The video provides the opportunity to observe each musician with their instruments, and serves as a piercing gaze into the lives of another, as seen through how they wear themselves in this 3-minute and 40-second video."Landscape" is a beautiful reminder to be of few desires and easily satisfied, and for that, I'm thankful. I hope that this blog post reaches one or two others, and does the very same.
