“The John is really summiting!”: Watch the first woman ever to DJ while paraglidingAn electronic artist based in Mumbai, India, could well be the first ever woman to DJ while paragliding, and she’s shared her soaring set online for all to see.
The daredevil DJ, known as TRYPS, performed her set from over 10,000 feet above Bir, Himachal Pradesh in Northern India, as reported by EDM.com. In her videos, you can see her gliding above the thick green trees and rolling hills as both she and her paragliding instructor bop their hands to the beat.

On her Instagram page, TRYPS promoted her achievement with a simple teaser post which said, “No stage. No ceiling. No limits. First female DJ to ever do it.” You can watch her set in the videos below:

In another follow up video, TRYPS has explained how she actually pulled the set off, as she’s been getting questions regarding the power supply while mid-air. She explains that a company reached out to her with the idea to do the set with a battery-operated console.
TRYPS was under the impression that she would be provided with the portable AlphaTheta Omnis Duo, but just shortly before she was due to fly to the location for the set, she was told this wasn’t the case. Eventually, they managed to power a standard console using a bike battery, and at the end of her explainer video, she’s also provided some close ups to prove to the doubters that there was indeed power, and the set was being played live.
Though there was a stressful start, TRYPS is really proud that things finally came together. She has another, more in-depth video about the set coming to her YouTube channel soon, but in the meantime, you can hear more about the experience below:
