  • Diplo denies revenge porn allegations amid lawsuitDiplo has shared a statement online after a lawsuit was filed accusing the artist of distributing revenge porn.
The DJ was sued by his accuser last month (27 June). A woman named as “Jane Doe” claims he sent sexually explicit videos and photos of her to another woman. Diplo has denied these allegations in a post shared to Instagram.
Written in the caption below a range of images of Diplo partying across Europe, he writes, “Don’t believe what you read in the news. I don’t own a 100 million dollar mansion, I didn’t pay 450k euros to rave in Ibiza and I didn’t send dirty Snapchats in 2017… Let’s talk about how lucky I am to party with you guys and how good the raves are here in Europe .. (Athens Croatia Prague done… Paris up next).”

Court documents have been obtained by Rolling Stone, which reports that “Doe” filed the lawsuit in California District Court, and alleges she was 21 when she met Diplo, whose real name is Thomas Wesley Pentz. She claims he invited her to his Manhattan hotel room in June 2016 after beginning their relationship by sending sexual images two months prior.
Doe allegedly had a casual seven-year relationship with the DJ and producer, who she claims would occasionally and consensually record their sexual encounters. She says she made it clear that these recordings should remain private.
The lawsuit claims that in 2023, Doe received a message from a woman saying she was in possession of sexual videos and images of Doe, allegedly sent via Snapchat in October 2018. The document states, “Upon information and belief, defendant Diplo has continued to disclose and/or distribute [Doe’s] intimate images and/or videos from 2018 through present.”
MusicTech has contacted a representative of Diplo for comment. His attorney, Bryan Freedman, described the woman’s lawsuit as an “obvious shakedown” attempt in a statement provided to Rolling Stone.

  • TuneCore launches pay-per-use AI-powered mastering service to help artists on a tight budgetTuneCore has launched its very own mastering service which utilises AI technology to produce “professional-quality tracks” for artists on a budget, and increase the chances of their songs being played by listeners worldwide.
TuneCore Mastering’s AI was not trained on any copyrighted material, in line with its “four pillars for responsible AI engagement”: consent, control, compensation, and transparency. The tool is available for all TuneCore artists on a pay-per-use model for $5 per track.

READ MORE: Will RIAA’s lawsuit against Udio and Suno really be the win we’re hoping for?

Self-releasing artists can use TuneCore Mastering to get their music’s audio quality on par with or, as the brand says, exceeding industry standards. The tool should help your tracks sound great on all streaming services and speaker configurations, and highlight its unique individual qualities.
To use TuneCore Mastering, artists simply upload their audio, wait a few minutes for it to process, and then listen to their optimised track before downloading and distributing. This can of course be done through TuneCore itself. Artists are also able to receive full-length previews as often as they want before purchasing the mastered versions.
Its AI tech focuses on fixing technical issues found in uploaded tracks without changing the artistic vision of each song, treating them without presets or biases based on genre. By providing access to mastering on a budget, TuneCore believes it will enable artists to start earning money from their music earlier in their careers.
Andreea Gleeson, Chief Executive Officer at TuneCore, comments, “TuneCore Mastering is the latest addition to a suite of products helping TuneCore artists around the world make better music. Audio mastering helps ensure that an artist’s music sounds polished and complete, but comes with a significant financial and technical barrier for many artists.
“TuneCore Mastering’s ethically-built AI technology alleviates these barriers, providing an instant audio mastering option for artists who wouldn’t have the means to have a professional master it for them. Through TuneCore Mastering, we are excited to be able to offer our artists the ability to easily and affordably ensure their music sounds the way it is meant to be heard across all platforms and audio configurations.”

  • Italian producer and multi-instrumentalist Mouth Water blends house with nostalgic ‘80s electro pop on mesmerising new single, BlackoutAd feature with Through The Void.
Following a successful set at this year’s Primavera Sound festival in Barcelona, Mouth Water – the brainchild of Italian producer and multi-instrumentalist Lawrence Fancelli – is well and truly soaring. And he’s continuing that upward trajectory with the release of his electrifying new single, Blackout.
Produced at Fancelli’s own state-of-the-art OSB Studio in Tuscany and mixed by Mark Yardley of Stanton Warriors, Blackout is a mesmerising amalgamation of stunningly mixed melodic house elements, hypnotic beats and a foray for Mouth Water into the nostalgic realm of ‘80s electro pop.
Thematically and lyrically, the track invites listeners to embrace their darker, more uninhibited selves – which emerge in the absence of societal norms and expectations – and to confront their hidden desires and the thrill of surrendering to them.

Interestingly, Blackout features female vocals, which Fancelli describes as an “unusual choice” for Mouth Water.
“I usually first come up with either a chord progression or get inspired by messing around with my analogue synths,” Fancelli explains of his creative process. “Then I build on top of that, experimenting and sometimes going down dead ends to find a sound that moves me. Then I come up with the vocal melodies, if any, and finally I write the lyrics trying to fit them into these melodies.”
Blackout is just the latest peak in a diverse and successful career for Lawrence Fancelli, who started out behind the scenes as a sound engineer and bass player in New York and Florence, Italy.
Fancelli later established OSB Studio in an idyllic old farmhouse in the Tuscan countryside, which has since become the birthplace of his Mouth Water project – which debuted in 2019 – and a sought-after recording facility in its own right.
Another of Fancelli’s career highlights to date came with an electric performance at this year’s Primavera Sound festival in Barcelona, Spain.

The set went so well, in fact, that Mouth Water has been booked to support Sheffield dance pop band Sophie and the Giants on tour this summer, kicking off in Italy in early July. Dates are not available as of yet, but you can stay tuned to Mouth Water’s Instagram page for more information.
As for what attendees can expect of Mouth Water’s forthcoming performances, a “somewhat unusual show”, thanks to his characteristic blend of DJing and multi-instrumentalism.
“I love the innovation and freedom that electronic music enables, especially in live situations where a single individual can perform an entire concert solo by creatively combining electronic and traditional instruments,” he says.
“[It’s] somewhere between a concert and a DJ set. Also [there’s] a good amount of danceable music, even though I have to stay pretty concentrated on stage due to the multitasking nature of the set.”
You can stream Blackout now, and keep an eye on Mouth Water’s website and socials for more info surrounding his upcoming tour dates with Sophie and the Giants.

  • Zedd files restraining order against “erratic” home intruderZedd has filed a restraining order against an “erratic” stalker following a series of home intrusions. In court documents acquired by TMZ, a woman named Rezwan Senobarian has been showing up at Zedd’s house multiple times a week and demanding to speak directly with him.

Apparently, Senobarian has also been falsely impersonating Zedd on the phone and in emails. In the court files, Zedd claims that his stalker has pretended to be him multiple times to numerous people.
The files also claim that the harassment has not only been directed at Zedd, but also towards his personal assistant and security guards. The DJ also insists that he has never met the woman before.
Back in May, Zedd announced that he would be releasing his new album Telos this coming August.
The record will be the DJ’s first release in nine years. In his own words, he has strived to build an entire sonic world for his fans to dig into.

“With Telos, I wanted to create a profound album listening experience that takes you on a journey beyond just the songs,” he explains in the record’s press release. “I wanted everyone to be able to feel a deeper emotional connection, like how I felt listening to my favourite albums when I was growing up. It was the details, transitions and cohesiveness that made me want to create a truly meaningful body of work.”
“It’s been almost 10 years since my last album came out,” he continues. “I knew for my next one I needed to allocate enough time to properly focus and craft something exceptional that lives up to my standards. On Telos, I had the honour of working with some of my musical heroes, best friends, and favorite new artists. I can confidently say that I have made my best album yet.”
Telos is out 30th August. Zedd’s annual festival, Zedd In The Park, will also take place 6 and 7 September.
