Roland n/vision

Roland n/vision is a compact, two-part multitimbral wavetable synthesizer in the Roland Boutique series. It combines dual-layer wavetable synthesis with oscillator modulation, nonlinear wave shaping, analog-modeled filters, and onboard effects. Designed for sound design, electronic music production, and live performance, n/vision provides hands-on controls alongside menu-based editing for more detailed parameter adjustments.

The synthesis engine uses two independently adjustable wavetable layers, allowing users to blend and modulate waveforms to produce evolving pads, leads, basses, and complex textures. Wavetable position, layer balance, pitch, and wave shaping can be controlled through multiple modulation sources, including envelopes, LFOs, and a step LFO. A nonlinear wave shaper adds harmonic content, while a multimode analog-modeling filter provides additional tonal control.

n/vision supports up to 56 voices of polyphony, depending on sound engine load, and offers dual and split modes for combining its two parts. A two-part, 64-step polyphonic sequencer supports up to eight notes per step and motion recording for automating parameter changes. An arpeggiator provides additional rhythmic and melodic options.

The effects section includes 17 effect types, including chorus, distortion, modulation, and pitch-shifting effects, alongside dedicated delay and reverb processing. The reverb offers five types and a shimmer mode.

The instrument includes a K-25m keyboard dock, built-in speaker, and battery or USB-C power. USB-C audio/MIDI, traditional MIDI input and output, and an external clock input allow integration with computers, hardware synthesizers, and other electronic instruments.

Features

Two-part multitimbral wavetable synthesizer with dual and split modes.

Two independently adjustable wavetable layers with position and layer-mix controls.

Up to 56 voices of polyphony, depending on sound engine load.

Nonlinear wave shaper for harmonic processing.

Analog-modeled multimode filter with drive and vintage-inspired filter models.

Oscillator modulation, envelope modulation, LFO, and step LFO.

Stereo spread control.

Two-part, 64-step polyphonic sequencer with up to eight notes per step.

Motion recording for sequencer parameter automation.

Built-in arpeggiator.

17 effects types, plus dedicated delay and five reverb types with shimmer mode.

Storage for 240 sound patches and 96 patterns.

Included K-25m keyboard dock and built-in speaker.

USB-C audio/MIDI connectivity and standard MIDI input/output.

External clock input, stereo audio output, headphone output, and mix input.

Powered by four AA batteries or USB-C.

https://youtu.be/TTVva6y9uPA?si=iWDzxLrhnjFlnPj9
