Behringer reveals smaller UB-Xa D synth which comes without a keyboard

While this might be ever so hyperbolic, at 104cm long it is a tad on the large size. As Behringer found that seven out of ten synth fans don’t have enough space for it, it has launched the UB-Xa D as the desktop version.

READ MORE: “This synthesiser is clearly not a clone”: Behringer releases statement following Tom Oberheim’s response to its UB-Xa synth

As Behringer says, “All of us spatially challenged producers can finally sleep easy.”

There’s a new promo video, which you can watch below. You can pre-order it at Andertons too. On the site, it’s listed at £699, £300 cheaper than the original version, while it’ll be $799 in the US according to Facebook.

Aside from its smaller size and the lack of a keyboard, it’s quite similar to the original UB-Xa. There are 16 voices, dual oscillators per voice, a 12/24dB filter, two LFOs, and two ADSRs per voice. But, the width is just 46cm, so it’s under half as wide as the original.

You can mount it in a rack with the ears supplied, too, if you prefer it to be in a rack rather than on your desk, and it’s easier to handle than the larger version.

Meanwhile, Behringer is exploring direct-to-customer shipping with delivery from its factory to help ensure faster delivery and access to products. The company currently uses a network of retailers and distributors – like Amazon – but it may be changing its strategy.

For more information, head to Behringer.

The post Behringer reveals smaller UB-Xa D synth which comes without a keyboard appeared first on MusicTech.
